Saving your score

Auto-save

StaffPad constantly saves your work, so you shouldn't have to worry about saving or losing work.

On Apple devices, StaffPad will create a folder on iCloud and store scores to this folder. This ensures they're backed up, and will be restored after a device backup or reinstall.

On Windows, when you first install or run StaffPad, you’ll be prompted to choose a folder on your device to save your StaffPad Scores to. We highly recommend you choose a OneDrive folder here; this way, all your scores are backed up and are easy to share later. It’s worth noting that your OneDrive folder still works offline – it just means your scores are backed up to the Microsoft Cloud when your device is connected. Everything is still available on your device when you’re offline. Of course, you could also use Dropbox or Google Drive if you prefer those services.

Scores will be saved in the default location you have specified. To change this location, open the app’s Settings and choose a different location in Saved Score Location.

To save a native StaffPad file in a different location other than the default one, see Exporting your score.

StaffPad files have the extension .stf and can only be opened by the StaffPad app. To export your file to other formats, see Exporting your score.
