Pedals in StaffPad behave somewhat like other lines but they also have unique characteristics.
Select Pedal / Retake and tap in the score once to place the pedal line for the smallest appropriate duration. Tap and drag the pedal line to the right to extend it.
By default, a pedal line in StaffPad is really an invisible line connecting the traditional pedal and damper symbols. You can change this to a more modern-looking pedal line (with “Ped.” appearing in regular text) by long-pressing on a pedal line in your score and choosing Switch Pedal Style from the contextual menu.
Selecting Switch Pedal Style will affect all of the pedals in your score.
Once you’ve placed a pedal line in your score, you can place a retake anywhere between the two endpoints of the pedal line. This works with either pedal line style, though it looks somewhat nicer in the more modern style. Select the Pedal / Retake symbol and tap or swipe up to intersect the pedal line where you want to place the retake.
To move a retake, simply drag the retake right or left; it will automatically snap to the nearest beat.
To delete a retake, simply erase it using the eraser.
